After reading and discussing the article from Oxford University about the list of Top Ten Irritating Phrases, why do you think we create these phrases? Where do they come from? What makes a saying or a phrase popular that people use them all the time? Why do they then fade out?

i think people to create these phrases to be able to communicate in a different way.
Phrases are used just to for fun i would think. they are probably created just to be funny, maybe for attention, and they just catch on and start to be used in normal conversations. Phrases usually stopped being used once someone else thinks of something else that means the same thing.
We make up phrases for no reason. the thing is is that most people don't like most phrases. Phrases come from people who like to make up new phrases. If you hear someone saying a phrase that was made up recentely then it is a popular phrase. But if you hear it less and less it kind of lost its value and people probrably won't say it any more.
We create these pharses because it is shorter to say. They rhyme which makes you not forget it so it stick ins your head. Most the time when they creat pharases it is a way a group talks to each other like the army with military time.
Nothing really bothers me phrases words or anything dosent bother me unless its racist unless someone makes fun of the way they talk.

When a phrase is used more than once it sometimes gets old and annoying. But when a phrases gets started people say it more and more, also more people will say it more. Phrases come from anywhere or anyone, it doesn't really matter. Phrases are made up just for fun when some people are bored.
I think that people say annoying catch phrases, because it's something that just comes out of their mouths or just kind of happens. It could start out as an inside joke or something like that, and then before you know it, it will be one of the most popular catch phrases that there is in the country or your school or your town.
I think that we creat these phrases because we try to make our launguage more interesting. These phrases come from the time period that we live in when we make them up or hear them. They make them popular by the way they sound and who says them. They fade out because the phrases stat getting old or over used.
I think that the phrases are created because people are lazy they don't want to say the whole thing. They come from people that say something without realizing what they said. If the people around them like the saying they will repeat it and it becomes a know phrase. When a phrase is over used people stop saying it because they feel it's stupid. That what i think about well know pfrases.

These phrases help people understand what some people are talking about. also to explain certian thing better. They come from random people. some phrases help people be more respectful. they fade out because knew phrases are made up.
i think we use phrases to take the easy out. Also we substute words that are easier to explain to people better.
I think all those work come from the people that try to make some thing different because if people keep using same word every day then sentence will get boring and that why thoses word got make up. And it fade out because the next generation got create and the new word got create too.
i think a phrase is used to make something long into a simpler and more life like situation.
